 8th              7th              7th

02/02/24  Present team members: Cooper S., Nick H., Tristan T.,

Task:We 3D printed a chassis with gearing ratio made for  speed not torque

Time spent: 1 hour

Challenges: The axles of the front of the car kept slipping messing up the gear alignment

Modifications:

02/09/24 Team Members Present: Nick H., Cooper S., Tristan T

Task: We are making  pillars for the solar panel to sit flat over the motor to obtain the most amount of sunlight

Time spent: 1 hour

Challenges:Making the exact height for pillars to hold up the solar panel for maximum sunlight

Modifications:

02/16 Team Members Present: Cooper S., Nick H., Tristan T.,

Task: We 3D printed wheels that were lighter and more efficient than the heavy wheels that we had before. (First Design)

Time spent: 1 hour

Challenges: Getting the wheels to fit the axels due to the small hole for them

Modifications:

03/01 Team Members Present: Cooper S., Nick H., Tristan T.

Task:We decided to scrap the front wheel design to put them into the center front near where the loop goes for the wire and 3D printing a new chassis

Time Spent: 1 hour

Challenges: the alligator clips for the battery pack kept detaching from the wires

Modifications

03/08/24 Team Members Present: Nick H., Cooper S., Tristan T

Task: Changed the wheels from a small design to a large 3D printed rubber wheel with a 3D printed inner hub.

Time spent: 1 hour

Challenges: The 3D printer was broken so we couldn’t print anything

Modifications:

03/22/24 Team Members Present: Nick H., Cooper S., Tristan T

Task: We made a new 3 wheeled design that has canted front tires and the motor connecting straight to the rear tire. We also mounted the solar panel above the chassis with wooden dowels.

Time spent: 15 min

Challenges: limited time for the meeting to work today.

  • It is great to see the adaptions you made based on how things worked. That 3 wheel design with the angled wheels is very unusual. I look forward to seeing how fast it goes!

  • First of all, anybody who can actually run a 3D printer is not a loser. That is a feat in and of itself. Secondly, this is an awesome design. I wish you would have posted a video, though. I would have liked to see the three-wheeled wonder in action.
