Deep Sea Creatures

Ayden S., Davis P., Ezra N., and Savannah D.

Creators of the Deep Sea Creatures, bioluminescence tapestry.

All students are in the 4th Grade

Medium

Our art piece is a textile art medium. We decided to sew our project because we wanted to try something new.

Renewable Energy

Our Deep Sea Tapestry highlights animals that produce bioluminescence. Bioluminescence is the production and emission of light by a living organism through a chemical reaction.

Bioluminescence is a sustainable and renewable source of energy. Researchers are investigating the potential of using bioluminescence for public lighting and urban planning.

Can you find the 5 hidden words in our project? You may need a black light to see them light up like our animals would in the wild.

Natural is things that are produced by nature.

Aquatic is another word for ocean, 71% of Earth is covered in water.

Energy is movement and is an important part of our lives.

Light is what our animals naturally produce.

Waves the renewable energy resource produced by the ocean.

Thank you!

Ms. Lucas for helping us collect supplies and making sure we were safe while creating our art project.

We also used the internet for research purposes.

  • Wow! I enjoyed seeing that you decided to learn a life skill and use a sewing machine for your project. It is fascinating to learn about bioluminescence and to see it come to life in your art. I look forward to seeing your work in Cocoa 🙂
