Meet the Wellington Landings Middle School Team!

The Process:
Tube within a tube, newspaper used to insulate the interstitial space between, and silver electrical tape used to line inside of tube.
Several adjustments were made to extend the “window” opening.Adding the umbrella and Mirrors to “boost” the temperatures. Finished cookerWindow on top opens to place food on cooking rack.Plexiglass ends allow additional light to enter.

Our Data: Our highest temperature reached was 160 degrees F/ 73 degrees C. While our temperatures did not reach as high as others, our cooker HELD its temperatures with cloud cover, wind, and dropping air temperatures for longer durations.
I love the creativity of this design, most of the solar cookers have the same shape but this one was more complex, you presented it bve well, so overall it is a very good project.
Great job girls! I love the idea of a tube cooker! I also like that you incorporated visiting a local farm to not only learn more but to use fresh local vegetables! Keep up the great work!
